On the Road . . . Again

Once again, I’m on my way to Chicago. Can a year go by in such a flash as to be hardly recognizable? This year sure has for me.

This trip will be a little different from the one I did last year. I will spend time with my aunt in Chicago. We have plans to visit the Brookfield Zoo and hang out before I attend the International Quilt Festival in Rosemont, IL.

The main draw for me to attend IQF-Chicago is that I have two quilts in the SAQA show Deux. It will be fun to show my aunt and cousin what I do up close and personal. Then on Sunday afternoon, I’ve volunteered to work the SAQA booth. Come by and say hi if you’re at the show.

If time permits, I will head up to Paw Paw, Michigan, for a few days with more cousins at the lake house. There will be no traveling studio this year, just my camera and sketchbook/journal to capture ideas. And maybe a few knitting projects to finish.

Then back home to get ready for the reception for my show at NCAR on July 5.  After that I will be getting the last Drew quilt, Best Friend, ready to go on the road to IQF-Houston for the Raining Cats and Dogs show. That show will travel until August 2014.

I’m going to miss him hanging out in the stairwell.
